DevOps Engineer

Our client is one of the leading ship management companies globally today. They manage a diverse fleet of vessels via a worldwide network of fully owned subsidiary offices, coordinated from their headquarters in Limassol, Cyprus. Now, they are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their team. They successful candidate will be will be setting the direction of infrastructure. This includes areas like deployment, capacity planning, scalability, reliability, disaster recovery, performance and operating margin of the product. A background in cloud architectures will also be an advantage

• Research and Development for system availability, scaling, security, observability and operating margins.
• Deep understanding of Containers (Docker), Orchestrators (Kubernetes), Helm Charts.
• Understanding of Load-balancers, Service Mesh (Envoy, Istio), Secrets Management (Vault), Cloud Native Pipelines.
• Deep focus on observability e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Fluent Bit, Kibana.

• Strong and demonstrable problem-solving ability.
• Comfortable with self-management and on-the-job learning
• Ability to share knowledge across team(s).
• Demonstrable initiative and logical thinking
• Passion about emerging technologies and self development

• Knowledge and passion for Unix/ GNU tooling networking and virtualization systems

• Deep understanding of Containers (Docker), Orchestrators (Kubernetes), Helm Charts.
• Focus on observability e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Fluent Bit, Kibana.
• Experience in any cloud or virtualization solution ( AWS, GCP, VMware, KVM )
• Good at adapting to new tools, processes and challenges

• Experience in using monitoring and alerting tools.
• Experience in using CI/CD systems.
• Understanding of Load-balancers, Service Mesh (Envoy, Istio), Cloud Native Pipelines.
• Experience in configuration tools and frameworks. ( e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Argocd)
• Knowledge of relational and distributed databases
